Take Me Out To The Ballgame

A summer at Techstars is all about work. Ten companies are trying to get a shit ton done in a very little amount of time. So it’s important to have some fun. Play a nice round of ping pong. Get out and have a happy hour drink at the Rio. Charter a party bus with a keg to the Rockies and institute a Tequila-only shot policy. It’s all relative.

Techstars ‘07, ‘08, mentors and friends all came together this Sunday for a wholesome trip down to the ballpark to cheer on the Rockies. The TripDoor organized the party and the booze, and we hope you all got your share of both.

We had a fabulous time getting to know past founders and hanging out with some of our mentors and other colleagues, including Brett Jackson from Generation Think Tank, Sara Czyzewicz from the just-launched DandyId (check it out) and Mike Weiner (who met us at the game) from Holland & Hart.

The keg started flowing at the bunker at 10AM and went strong until boarding time at half past eleven. The “Techstars” branded bus bumped rap tunes and Scarface clips the entire way to the ballgame.

Tequila seemed to be the drink of choice on the bus, as evidenced by my Wall of Shots below. I think we can all agree that Jeremy Tanner achieved best form of the day with his almost perfect 90-degree angle. Nice.

The raucous crew headed up to “RockPile” area upon arrival to the game, which is notorious for housing the more fun-loving (i.e., obnoxious) baseball revelers. We were a perfect fit. All in all, the sun was hot but the company was great, and we even managed to fit in a few bars and dinner back in Boulder at Pasta Jays before calling it a night.

Thanks to all of you who came out to the park on Sunday! Send funny pics to me at krista {at} thetripdoor.com.
